Bo Family is a street theatre production by Marie de Jongh, written and directed by Jokin Oregi. Aimed at audiences aged three and over, the show combines clowning, innocence and mask theatre to create a playful and visually engaging experience based on direct interaction with the audience.
The story introduces Mr. Bo, a man who has never heard the word “NO”. As a tourist, he travels through towns and cities accompanied by his two elderly servants, whom he treats in a despotic manner. As the story unfolds, however, we discover that the two servants are actually his parents. Through a series of absurd and comic situations, the production explores power relationships, family bonds and human connections.
In this project, Leire Ormazabal is part of the cast alongside Maite Guevara and Aitzol Iraola. She performs in a production where masks, movement and physical expression play a central role, combining direct interaction with the audience and physical comedy.
Bo Family represents another step in Leire’s career within contemporary and family theatre, as part of an internationally touring production that brings her work directly to audiences through the distinctive and intimate format of street theatre.
